Meet the Cancer Experts - Dr. Amit Oza


I knew early on that I really wanted to work in cancer because there is so much that needed to be done and at the same time there was a lot of opportunity in terms of looking at research and Identifying how we could make a difference.
My nephew, who was very young, developed acute lymphocytic leukemia and unfortunately succumbed at a young age and again, those were sort of fairly major influences in terms of how tragic cancer can be and how much needs to be done in terms of actually fighting the battle against this deadly disease.

Being able to actually have impact on a patient is actually a very formative experience and at the end of the day, what keeps me grounded is what happens in the clinic and what happens with patients and that for me is very very powerful
